Remote participation of our public live sessions is available via ZOOM video conferencing. Simply select your participation preference when making your reservation and quote request at our online event calendar and quote system.

What your team will get

• The presentation 
  Remote participants will be able to see and hear slides as they are being taught, and we will expedite advance shipment of hard-copy manuals for each participant. For late participant registrations, the manuals are shipped immediately after class completion.
  
  
• Full participation just like a live class
  Participants can toggle through different views at will to see the presentation slide share, a live video/audio feed of the instructor presenting content, or to even see other in-person and remote video participants in the same class. Participants are free to ask verbal or text questions during the course of the presentation, just as they would in a normal in-person class.
  
  
  • Be sure to have a functioning microphone available so you can ask questions and be heard by the class. A headset is recommended for best results.
  • A webcam is highly recommended. It will allow you to better participate with the rest of the class, and will allow the instructor to better anticipate when you have a question - just like in a real in-person live class.
• Course resources
  Remote participants will also get secured access to our online learning management system where they will be able to access the same course material made available to our participants attending in-person, often including soft-copy policy template tool-kits provided in class.
  
  
• Certification
  If an in-person training session has professional certification preparation and exams included (and most do), remote participants will get the same online access to certification practice exams and applicable professional certification exams. Since exams are proctored online on demand, remote participants will not need to appear in person to take their exam(s).
  
  
• Participation
  Remote participants will be able to hear the presenter, as well as questions from the audience. They will be able to ask questions at will, just as in an in-person live class. All participants see each other (Picture-in-Picture on top of the slide presentation) if webcams are enabled.

Once your registration is finalized with full pre-payment, we will provide your registration coordinator and participants with a special video conference link that allows participants to use their internet-connected desktop, laptop, mobile phone (Android or iPhone), or tablet to connect into the video conference via Google Chrome, Firefox, or ZOOM's free app.

How to get started

1. Register to attend a preferred session on our public events calendar at www.certifiedinfosec.com/event-calendar/find-events. Group discounts are available.
   
   
2. Getting started: Participants install ZOOM and set up personal ZOOM accounts (free) if they have not already done so. Learn more at https://zoom.us/.
   
   
3. Once payment is received and processed for you and/or your participant group, the participants will be advised by email to register their ZOOM accounts for the meeting in advance. Simply follow the directions to register your ZOOM account for meeting attendance. This should be performed well in advance of the session.
   
   
4. Connect to the video conference wait room at least 15 minutes prior to the training session start time. Your connection request will initially be pended in a ZOOM meeting "waiting room." The instructor will authorize meeting participants at least 10 minutes prior to the session start-time. Helpful links:

1. Can other people watch along with me at no extra charge?
   • No. Only the registered user is permitted to watch the presentation or access provided resources.
     
     
2. Do I get a copy of the presentation?
   • Yes, you will receive a hard-copy of the slide presentation delivered in class.
   • No, you will not receive a digital soft-copy of the presentation.
     
     
3. Is the presentation broadcast recorded?
   • No. The event is privately streamed to other registered participants only, and is NOT permanently recorded in any way.
     
     
4. Can I record some or all of the lecture?
   • No, recording the lecture is strictly prohibited. If you record the presentation, you will be infringing international copyright laws, and you will also breach very serious local and international laws prohibiting the recording of photos, video, or audio of persons without their consent. 
     
     
5. What happens if CIS loses its internet connection, preventing me from participating?
   • Attending remotely via the internet is inherently vulnerable to internet connectivity outages. We maintain redundant separate ISP internet connectivity links for broadcasting the session to remote participants that are not subject to common point-of-failure. Even with redundant fail-over in place, risk of disruption cannot be eliminated. We guarantee to provide reliable broadcasting and streaming of your purchased session, with no more than a maximum of 30 minutes outage in a given class day. If we fail to fulfil this service guarantee, we will offer the participant the opportunity to re-attend at a later date in-person at any location, or via teleconference. If you prefer a refund of fees, we will provide a complete refund of fees as remedy.
     
     
6. What happens if I lose internet connectivity, and cannot participate?
   
   • Again, attending remotely via the internet is inherently vulnerable to internet connectivity outages. It is your responsibility to maintain your own technical ability to connect to ZOOM and participate in the training session purchased. We have no control over the quality or availability of of your internet connectivity. If you are unable to access ZOOM over the internet, you will not be able to join and participate in the class meeting. This is akin to being unable to make it to class, which is treated as a "no-show".
     
     If your internet connection persists in your inability to participate, we will be able to validate the issue through our connection logs. Depending upon the severity and duration of your outage, we will reasonably determine if we can allow you to join another session of the same course at a later date. This determination is entirely at our own discretion.
     
     In any event, your technical inability to connect and participate does not make your training purchase eligible for refund of fees paid. At our own discretion, we will determine if any other remedy such as re-attendance can be provided.
